RESEARCH AREAS

Research areas

NorthArc studies high-frequency radio propagation through measurement, modeling, and controlled field experimentation.

Ionospheric propagation

HF radio systems depend on a changing natural medium. NorthArc studies how propagation paths vary across time of day, season, geography, and solar conditions, with emphasis on measured performance in real operating environments.

Field measurement

NorthArc’s research programs are built around disciplined observation, repeatable experiments, and instrumented field conditions.

Signal strength and path behavior over time. Noise-floor and interference characterization. Receiver-site monitoring and environmental logging. Comparative studies across sites and antenna configurations.

Modeling and analysis

NorthArc combines field measurements with propagation models to evaluate system behavior under changing ionospheric and spectrum conditions. The goal is practical characterization rather than theoretical abstraction.

Technical notes
